Vatican's official exorcist Fr. Gabrielle Amorth recounted in his recent book the exorcism that Pope Benedict XVI performed on two men, known only as "Giovanni" and "Marco," during a general audience at St. Peter's Square in 2009.
Amorth said that two of his helpers brought the men before the audience to see the pope. When the Pope's car arrived, the two became agitated and fell into the ground. One of the helpers told Giovanni to control himself. "I am not Giovanni," the reply came from a voice not his own.
“The pope began to wave to the crowd," Amorth recalled, "and Giovanni and Marco started to howl,
drool, shake and fly into a rage. The pope did not get flustered, he raised an
arm and blessed the four people. The possessed were then hit by a wild jolt, their whole bodies were hit.
